Unfortunately, he never explains why. He muses that open source is inherent to software and the Internet. Yet, to me, that means that Adobe is embracing the future and going forward as a leader rather than dragging its heels and because it has no choice.

I get the feeling he just wanted to write an exciting headline to get readers.

Obviously, there’s a lot of work left to finish the project, and they haven’t made any decisions, but it’s possible, and that’s cool.
